Newbie Program- Get to Know You

article-item

The program is scheduled to last for 1 year, allowing international students to quickly integrate into campus life at NTHU through the Newbie program.

Who is in the program?

We have recruited some current students, who we called Bee partners, and most of them are bachelor students. They are familiar with NTHU campus, and are going to accompany you through this new academic year.

What does a bee partner do?

They can share information about NTHU to you, such as show you where to get the groceries or how to use the U-bike at school. Some bee partners might invite you to have dinner/ lunch together or invite you to have culture trip to explore Taiwan.

What should I do as a Newbie?

We hope you and your bee partner could become friends and explore the beauty of Hsinchu City as well as Taiwan, and for the counterpart, we also welcome that you could share your culture with your bee partner, too. Which means when you choose

to join this program, it might take time to hang out or have meals with your bee partner if he/she invites you to.

How does the matching work and how do I contact my bee partner?

For the ratio, we will match 4-5 international students (Newbies) to one current student (Bee partner). We will match 5 current students (Bee partner) and 25 international students (Newbies) to ONE family. We will send your basic information to your bee partner. They will contact you through the email. Please stay in touch with your bee partners.

To help current students (Bee partner) and international students (Newbies) get to know each other, the Division of Overseas Students Service will host the "Newbie Program – Get to Know You Event" on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. The current students (Bee partner) and international students (Newbies) are invited to gather and make their first connection, building a bridge for future friendships. Delicious light refreshments will be provided, and participants will have a chance to win surprise souvenirs.
