Academic program
Undergraduate Program/ Granted for Bachelor Degree |
In addition to the fundamental engineering education, the main curriculum of our undergraduate program focuses on the latest IEEM knowledge of scientific management and the skills of production management.
|
Graduate Program/
Granted for Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy Degree |
Our goal is to educate graduate students to apply information technologies for systematic thinking, analysis and implementation in order to enhance the overall system performance of the industry. Five sub-programs for our graduate program: •Information and Operations Research
•Intelligence Manufacturing and Operations
•Ergonomics and Safety Management
•Engineering Management
•Health and Medical Care System Management
|
IEEM Professional Master’s Program/ Granted for Master of Science Degree |
This program emphasizes the combination of advanced engineering skills and management knowledge. The educational goal is to incorporate both IE academic research theories and field practical experiences of professional students into the professional master program; thus to develop student’s professional management skills with global view, innovative thinking and the ability to plan and make decisions effectively. IEEM Professional Master’s Program offers 8 required courses including Operations Research and Applications, Probability and Statistics Applications, Ergonomics Applications, Safety and Health Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Management, Supply Chain Management and Total Quality Management. |

Activities
IEEM professors and students participate actively in international and domestic academic associations such as INFORMS, Chinese Institute of Industrial Engineers, the Ergonomics Society of Taiwan, and the E-Business Management Society of Taiwan. Our students are very active in extracurricular activities in which they demonstrate their leadership and teamwork. The undergraduate students hold the summer Industrial Engineering Camp for high school students to promote industrial engineering knowledge through seminars, lectures and hands-on activities. And we also organize workshops for high school teachers to promote the study of industrial engineering.
We also design capstone courses in a student-centered and student-directed manner which encourage students demonstrate what they have learned in IEEM knowledge and skills. The senior project course (Topics in Industrial Engineering) provides undergraduate students great opportunities to apply their IE knowledge in real settings which is also a competition to encourage students focus more on it. As for graduate students, there are many research-related projects and various opportunities to attend conferences and to study abroad through exchange programs.
In addition, the IEEM department regularly invites scholars, practitioners, and alumni to share their findings and experiences with faculty and students through seminars. We also actively join in Industrial Liaison Program of the College of Engineering which strives to maintain the competitive advantages of Taiwan industry through joint industry and university cooperation.
